Skaneateles Engagement Session | Seth and Hayley
Skaneateles is one of those places where beauty can be found nearly every day of the year, from a crystal clear morning during foliage season, to an evening concert at Anyela’s Vineyards on a warm summer evening.
Springtime, is a bit of a crapshoot, however.
This was the case for the weekend I was scheduled to shoot an engagement session for Seth and Hayley, a lovely couple who currently call the Boston-area home, but have ties to the area. The forecast was for rain… heavy rain, round about the time we had initially scheduled the session. Even after we bumped the time up, it still looked like Mother Nature was not going to cooperate.
In the end, she did.
This meant I didn’t have to dodge rain drops, nor did I have to improvise places to shoot. In the end, the only challenge was navigating the numbers of tourists who, similarly, were enjoying the unexpectedly nice weather. Seth and Hayley couldn’t have been better sports and were an absolute pleasure to work with; their laughter, and easy smiles made for a great session that was both playful, and fun. Not only were we able to get some photos at the Gazebo (where Seth proposed to Hayley some time ago), but elsewhere downtown and along the water.
Their wedding will take them to Philadelphia, to be followed by a wonderful honeymoon overseas, and it was a privilege to be of service to them in commemorating their engagement.
